Accounting Software Onboarding Specialist

Position Overview

The Explorer Software Group is a leading provider of enterprise software solutions for the construction industry, offering a broad range of solutions for small, mid-sized and large enterprises worldwide.  Explorer’s construction-specific solutions offer rich functionality, a full application suite and best-in-class customization capabilities.  

The Accounting Software Onboarding Specialist is responsible to work with our customers, recommending best-practices software utilization and implementation.  Key responsibilities include delivering application training, and managing customer go-lives from project management, data conversion, implementation, training, and user guidance, through to post-implementation support.

Your training presentation style inspires people to want to learn more.  You offer a strong understanding of technology and a pride in facilitating the learning process.  You are flexible, very self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.  You must be willing to travel extensively and possess a valid passport.

It is critical that you have a minimum of 2 years accounting and business experience, with an accounting or finance degree preferred.  Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.


Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and research customer software issues
  • Train new customers to use Explorer’s construction software solutions
  • Provide consulting services and needs analysis for the planning, conversion and implementation process for our customers, along with recommending best-practice utilization of the various applications
  • Provide product and business knowledge to support customers and ensure successful implementations
  • Deliver application training workshops at our annual user conference
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in the various software modules and assist our technical support group when subject matter expertise is needed
  • Assess current skills and knowledge gaps for existing customers and implement training programs to address those gaps

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CRITICAL: Minimum 2 years accounting and business experience, with an accounting or finance degree preferred
  • Construction industry knowledge
  • Significant experience in implementing or working with Canadian payroll. Experience in union reporting and/or US payroll are additional assets.  
  • Professional and confident in appearance and presentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate customers
  • Must be a disciplined “self-starter” and operate without daily supervision
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams and Outlook).  SQL and XML experience an asset.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exceptional customer service
  • Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time
  • Fluency in French or Spanish is an asset

Software Support Specialist

Position Overview

Explorer Software is looking for a skilled, customer-focused Software Support Specialist to join our fully remote Customer Support team. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted resource for our construction ERP customers — helping them resolve technical issues, get the most out of their software, and feel genuinely supported at every stage. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team that values responsiveness, deep product knowledge, and a commitment to long-term customer success. This is a full-time permanent position suited to a proactive, adaptable professional who communicates clearly, thinks critically, and thrives in a fast-moving support environment.

 

Areas of responsibility include but are notlimited to:

  • Provide responsive, professional ticket and phone-based support to Explorer Software customers, resolving technical issues related to our construction ERP products with accuracy and care
  • Identify the most effective resolution path for each customer issue based on context and system knowledge, ensuring timely and consistent outcomes
  • Educate users on system functionality in line with Explorer’s default configuration, helping customers build confidence and self-sufficiency
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to technical or product teams as appropriate, with clear documentation of findings
  • Contribute to a collaborative support environment, using swarm techniques to address complex or urgent issues as a team
  • Document frequently asked questions and known issues ininternal knowledge bases to support team efficiency and consistency
  • Stay current on new product features and ERP updates,applying that knowledge to improve support quality
  • Contribute to customer enablement materials and documentation improvement efforts

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service or software support role
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with accounting software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with afocus on active listening, discovery, and resolution

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with support ticketing systems such as Zendesk or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

IT System Administrator

Position Overview

Explorer Software is seeking a knowledgeable and security-focused IT System Administrator to join our fully remote IT team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud and corporate IT infrastructure across a distributed organization operating throughout North America and internationally. You’ll manage Microsoft Azure environments, endpoint security, identity and access management, and Microsoft 365 collaboration systems — serving as a key technical resource within a team that takes pride in operational excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director, IT, this is a full-time permanent position suited to a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a security-first mindset and a genuine commitment to internal customer service.

 

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity services, with a focus on scalability, performance, and cost management
  • Manage Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, and hybrid identity configurations, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and licensing
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability across cloud and internal systems, proactively addressing issues as they arise
  • Administer and monitor endpoint detection and response platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike) and secure remote access solutions (e.g., Barracuda VPN), implementing MFA, conditional access, and zero-trust principles
  • Support vulnerability management, patching, and remediation processes, and assist with incident response investigations and documentation
  • Administer Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, managing governance, email security, retention policies, and compliance configurations
  • Maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and DNS; support endpoint management solutions such as Intune or comparable MDM platforms
  • Oversee system backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity processes; provide tier 2 and tier 3 escalation support for complex technical issues
  • Maintain clear and accurate system documentation, develop and improve IT policies and procedures, and identify opportunities to automate routine administrative tasks
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, security trends, and industry best practices, applying new knowledge to strengthen Explorer’s IT environment

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles

  • Certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
  • Technical Expertise:Strong Microsoft Azure administration experience
