Offsetting 125% of Our 2024 Carbon Footprint
At Explorer Software, we believe sustainability isn’t just a responsibility, it’s an opportunity to make a measurable difference for our planet and for future generations. That’s why we’re proud to share that Explorer Software, as part of the JDM Technology Group, has been certified Carbon Neutral+ by Carbon Footprint for the second consecutive year.
This certification reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship across our entire group of companies and marks a meaningful step forward in reducing our environmental impact. As a 100% remote workplace, we also lower emissions year-round by eliminating daily commutes and reducing the need for large office facilities, shrinking our footprint before offsets are even calculated.
What Carbon Neutral+ Means
Carbon Neutral+ goes beyond traditional carbon neutrality. While standard certification offsets 100% of a company’s measured carbon footprint, Carbon Neutral+ requires offsetting more than we produce — a way to make a positive net impact.
In 2024, we offset 1,851 tonnes of CO₂, representing 125% of our total carbon footprint. This means we’ve not only balanced our emissions, but we’ve gone further, removing additional carbon from the atmosphere.
Our Chosen Projects
We carefully selected three high-impact offset initiatives that reduce carbon emissions while also delivering measurable benefits to communities, health, and biodiversity:
Safe Drinking Water in Sierra Leone
In Sierra Leone, approximately 95% of rural water sources are contaminated. This project provides clean, safe water to communities, eliminating the need to boil water over wood-fueled fires. The result: reduced carbon emissions, improved public health, and fewer trees cut for fuel.
Clean Drinking Water in Eritrea
Using sustainable purification methods, this initiative delivers safe water to communities while preserving forests, reducing emissions, and protecting local ecosystems.
Reforestation in India
A large-scale reforestation program is restoring degraded land with native tree species, improving biodiversity and capturing atmospheric carbon. Beyond the environmental benefits, the project creates local jobs and increases household income for rural communities.
