Explorer Software Takes Contract Manager to the Amazon Cloud
Vancouver, BC - Explorer Software Group, one of the leading providers of construction accounting software worldwide, recently released their flagship product Explorer Contract Manager available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
Hosted solutions and the cloud computing paradigm are becoming more prevalent. Much like mainframes moved to client-servers, software and hardware are moving toward cloud computing. Implementing a cloud computing structure no longer requires users to have the expertise or control over the technology infrastructure that was once required.
The Software-as-a-Service model lets contractors buy software without the huge initial price tag attached. You are not paying for all the software upfront, but rather a use fee. End-users also will not have to purchase the hardware once needed to facilitate such software thanks to cloud computing. This pricing model makes sense in a time when budgets are tighter and margins are smaller.
The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud offers a completely scalable, flexible, reliable, and secure computing environment. "Amazon is the leader in cloud computing. With Contract Manager's ability to run from anywhere over the web, pairing it with Amazon's cloud infrastructure was the best choice." Said Jim McFarlane, President and CEO, Explorer Software. The Explorer Contract Manager product will be offered as SaaS in the near future.
